Accidental chicken host

If you plan on continuing to feed him, will you please buy some chicken feed?
We got the high protein mix that dobielover recommended. Larry was quite happy to have it, and he now only gets a little scratch food as a treat, also as recommended. I do very much want Larry to be healthy, to recover from his injuries. Plans are being made to build a coop and an enclosure around my future garden with chicken wire cover to protect him from hawks and other predators. I’ll eventually get him some pullets to care for as well.

Welcome to the coop! I use the Forums and Articles tabs at the top of the page to do research. You can get lost for hours. It's nice to know you are minutes away from getting help with questions and emergencies! I always check in the "What's New" section as well at the top of this page. This way I can read how I may have a similar question or help give some advice.

Wonderful. I do hope you keep posting on Larry’s progress. I would love to see pictures of him all healed up.

I’m trying to find the money to build a safe place for him to stay, and some hens to care for. For now he’s still “roughing it” as a free range boy, I have no clue if those dark spots on his comb & face will brighten up as he heals, or when the broken feathers will grow back.
