Accidental wormer overdose?

What is it that you have found that works, then? I have used carbaryl, which is not longer approved for chickens, and it did not work. In fact I obeserved lice for an hour after pulling off some feathers, and they crawled through the dust and never died.

Permethrin has worked for me for 8 years. I have only dealt with lice, not mites thank goodness. We tend to post pictures of products to help some who can’t seem to find things recognize what to get.
Fipronil. Before you say it’s not approved for chickens neither is Baytril and I see it recommended regularly. I didn’t say permethrin doesn’t work. I said it has a lot of resistance from mites. Fipronil works better than anything and its not even close based on my experience. I’m well aware of all the reports and fact sheets on toxicity, egg withdrawal, etc.. I’ve used it for years without issue and no lice and no mites. I’ve skinned birds, ziplock bagged the saddles and capes to actually check not just some random naked eye visual check.

Your chickens will be fine. :D

The pour on ivermectin dose is 0.1 ml per pound or 0.5 ml per five pounds.
The injectable ivermectin 0.05 ml per pound or 0.25 ml per five pounds.

However, as others have already said, it's not an effective poultry dewormer. Read this:

There are also many threads and posts from people that have lost birds from worms after using ivermectin, so I choose not to use it for worms.

I use it for treating lice and scaley leg mites.

This reference thread is the one I was looking for to post earlier. I had trouble finding it.

Again, conflicting info. That is the article I read and why I went with Ivermectin. Apparently it is not accurate.
The chicken chick has lots of good info on her website, but she has tons of dosing errors and misinformation, so IMO, best *not* to use any of her recommendations.
