Accidentally purchased meat bird, now what?

I'm going to look that up right now, thank you so much.

I've gotten to where sometimes I can't open jars. I've got to get my husband or son to do it.
Put a spoon tip under the lid and bowl against the jar... and push handle towards the jar. Some jars have a mark or a bump for the best spot. Some old can openers have a flat that works.
It flexes the metal lid and breaks the seal

My husband bought one of hose countertop roasters last year. As a whole, I try to avoid specialty kitchen appliances because of the room they take up. But this thing is worth it. My oven was actually free while the turkey cooked!
That’s what we use too!
Ours definitely doesn’t have only one purpose though… we actually use it for huge roasts, stew, and casserole for a crowd. In fact, we hardly use it for turkey at all!

I bought a bi
Sorry, I didn't see this before I replied.

Honestly, I don't think you could sell her for much at all, if she's beyond processing age. There just isn't going to be a market for a bird no one can do anything with.

I'm sorry if that sounds cold or insensitive, I don't mean to. But if a person can't use the bird for meat or eggs, and she can't sustain a normal life as even a pet, I just don't think you'll have a lot of luck.
I bought a big hen at the grocery store last year and cooked it like a turkey, everyone loved it and said that was the best chicken they ever ate, it was really good, I forgot how much it weighed.

I've considered just cooking a chicken or two instead of a turkey. No one eats the dark meat, and I'm always left with a ton.

What I did last year was I brought a turkey around Thanksgiving when they're super cheap, cooked half of it and froze the rest for later. Worked out quite well
That's a fantastic idea! I usually end up lightly boiling the leftovers, pulling the meat off the bones, freezing it, and using it in soup or casseroles later. I may stock with the carcass.
