Acclimating Chicks to the cold question

Ok, NOW they are panting. I removed the metal "door" so that the mesh grate was exposed to cool it down. Looks like I'll be up for a bit making sure that it doesn't get too chilled.

I was thinking the temps were a bit high for that age group as well. How are they doing today? They may have been huddled from being scared from the recent move to a new environment - not necessarily cold.

They are doing great this morning. I was in bed late and up early checking on them. They will be just fine.

It will be easy to turn down the temps over time in the brower until I can just move them to a metal cabinet brooder like the one hinkjc posted on her thread until spring.

Yep- cleaning out the brooder once a day and still having the house smell is no good.
