After all the possum and raccoon drama at the old place, and dog massacres at the new place, I thought I had the coop relatively secure only to be woken at 1:30 this morning to find an OWL inside the coop eating my favorite duck. An OWL!!! REALLY?!?!?! One of the pieces of tin blew off the roof and the summbich dropped in for a little tête de canard for his midnight snack.

The goats ate the peach tree, the drought killed the pecan tree and now OWLS are eating my ducks. OMG how did the pioneers survive?

Darn coyotes have moved here. As I listened to them in the middle of the night I estimate them to be within 500 ft. of us. So it is like when you get past one thing another comes.
