adding chick to flock question

i am looking to buy one more chick to add to my small flock of 4. the chick is about 1-2 weeks old. i can only get one cuz we are only allowed to have 4. so my questions is, should i keep the chick in the house till it is old enough to join the rest or put her in with the rest right away. none of my chicks have gone broody yet, if they ever will. they are not a year old yet.

Definitely don't try to integrate this young. You need to wait until they're closer in size -- and even if you did have a broody, a week old chick would be hard to pawn off on her
