Nope, no need for it to be wet And if you can get them outside to graze when it's warm they'll be very happy to get some grass.

I keep geese chickens an ducks on half acre fenced during the day at night the geese have their own home.

It does not. Mine always eat their food dry. Mine are also very good foragers and love to stand in water dishes, particularly the ducks' water dishes. Good luck with your adventure.
