Has anyone used this brand? It's $14.68 for a #50 bag. Also 17% protein. I've been feeding Kalmbach brand at 22% protein and 14.99 for #50 bag so see no need of changing because of such a small price difference. I just wondered if anyone uses ADM Feed.

Editing because I've found the Kalmbach feed to contain a lot of fine powder dust and they seem to overlook and not eat this part. Hope the ADM brand doesn't have a much dust.

The ADM brand is stocked at a local feed store, but it is located much farther away than others, so I've only bought it once. It's fair to midland. I can buy Hubbard at a different mill for much, much less. $17.50 for 100 pounds.

We also have a Kalmbach mill. It too is OK, but no better than the Hubbard and again, more money.

All feed results in some flour or crumbs. I just moisten the flour and stir and Ta Da. It is a kind of thick oatmeal consistency and the birds love it. Waste nothing.

Thank you Fred. It has been challenging getting Hubbard in my area. I am able to get ADM for $15/50# bag which is par for the course around here. I place my feeder on a large tray and catch what they waste. Mid day, when it is scorching hot, I gather what is in the tray and add a little bit of water to it and they think they are getting the world's best treat. The bonus is that not only are they not wasting feed, but they consume additional liquid which helps keep them hydrated.

Fred, don't know if you'll see this reply or not. Just opened my bag of feed and it has bugs in it. Should I return the bag, or is it OK?

Weevils deplete the nutritional value of feed and grind it to powder. Some say, well it's bugs and they love bugs. Not the same thing, sorry. You are feeding them something substandard and paying full price for it.

I always return feed if I find weevils, but I have never found any in my Tucker Milling. I used to find bag after bag of Southern States full of bugs at the place I was buying it-probably the way it was stored before coming to the feed store.

Thank you speckledhen. I am returning it this morning. We'll see what they say. I'd like to learn more about Tucker Milling. Looks like you're in N Ga and I'm in S. Perhaps they are available.
I'm not pleased with the ADM. It's really dusty.
