Adopt a Chicken

Did you know you can adopt chickens from animal shelters? There is this new nonprofit, Adopt a Bird Network which shows which birds are in need of homes at which shelters and sanctuaries across the US. They do daily posts on Facebook and Instagram.

I heard about this hen that was adopted. Her name was Big Mama. The original owners had took her to be put down and someone suggested putting the hen up for adoption. Someone adopted had adopted her. I heard about this hen through Air 1 FM.

Yes, I looked into it in the Los Angeles area and all they had were roos.

Yup!
I think in will stick with day old chicks and eating unwanted males.

We had some at our shelter but like all the shelters here too many hoops to jump through and a $30 adoption fee I don't think they're going anywhere soon.
