We have 5 three week old chicks who are still eating the medicated chick starter. I cleaned out their brooder box and threw out the shavings and spilled feed into the compost pile not thinking of the adult birds who free range. Now I see them all out scratching through it. First will it hurt them? Second can we eat the eggs? There isn't a lot but whatever was spilled over the last week.

No you cannot eat those eggs, they will be green and will be full of frogs! Those frogs, if they are let out of the eggs, will gradually take over the world, destroying civilization and life as we know it!!!!! Do not release the creatures!!!!!!

My birds eat chick starter all the time, and I still eat the eggs. It should be safe, but beware the frogs!

The type of medication does pass into the eggs (supposedly) people allergic to 'sulfa' drugs should not eat the eggs (theoretically).

My grandmother was allergic to 'sulfa' (not sulfur) drugs, so I would not sell eggs for two weeks and not give her any if my chickens got into medicated feed.
