Adventures in Incubating Shipped Eggs

Egg 5 hatched and egg 4 is hatching! That means each one that started developing managed to make it to hatching.

Yea!!! Congrats on the new fluff! So exciting I need mine to hurry up!

Day 19

Nothing to report. No peeps, no pips, no rocking eggs. Nada.

Then again, I really wasn't expecting anything. I've never seen eggs move in the incubator and have heard like, one peep, during all my prior incubations. Maybe the sound of the fan running lulls them to sleep.

Maybe I'll see or hear something tomorrow.

I'm pretty certain I heard peeps and saw a couple of my bantam eggs rocking when I set them in lockdown tonoght

Following as I have 6 Brahma eggs delivered fingers crossed they hatch I’ve got them in with Sablepoots, polish and clb this is my first time incubating eggs

SURPRISE! Chicks hatching on day 20. 6 of 11 hatched so far.

However - the remaining eggs have all pipped, but their membranes are white (dry). The one that has pipped a large enough hole, I can see it is shrinkwrapped. What should I do?

Congrats on your 6 little chicks. I've never had to assist a hatch before. This is a link to one of the learning center articles on this forum. The formatting is a little funky, but it does a good job of explaining the hatching process, when not to assist, and when and how to assist. Thanks! That one is more helpful than the one I had read previously. Dampened paper towels in the 'bator it is. I have had terrible difficulty keeping humidity up this time around, not sure why.

ok, this might seem like a silly question, but does anybody else is worried that candling might be hurting little embryo's eyes? Every time I press this flashlight against it, they start to wiggle around. I read that they do not get eyelids until day 10...
