She's always been rather large, especially compared to my other Cayuga, Bibby. I suppose I notice it more too because my other ducks are all light weights (khakis, runners, Welsh harlequin) She is a bit less active compared to the other ducks, but when she gets the zoomies she flaps all over the place. When I was treating her for bumblefoot, actively holding her daily for treatment & soakings she seemed to "suck it in" more, almost like she seemed a bit thinner. Not sure if that was a response to stress in her actions, or because she wasn't eating as much or what. But she seems happy and healthy now so as long as it isn't a problem I'll just make sure she isn't hogging the food.It sounds like you are making good changes! I will admit that my girls get a bit chubby over the winter as they do not move around much. However, they seem to naturally become more slender during spring/summer/fall as they spend most of their time foraging and swimming rather than hunkering down to stay warm. How long have you had your ducks? Has Fonda always been a big girl, or has this been progressive? Is she as active as the others?
