Advice-My dogs attacked my chickens today

Sorry your hen passed away!

chickens can recover from some pretty severe injuries, so if anything happens in the future during you leave chicken keeping adventures, don’t lose hope. She probably had an internal injury, from which she could not recover.

Thanks so much! We've had some bad luck with our chicks but we won't give up!

My older girl dog. I had introduced her to my baby chicks I had first and str8 away she learnt not to attack them.it was the younger dog that was being naughty and was trying to get my older girl dog into it.

Don’t think I can do that personally. A bit much for me. But I would like my dogs trained not to attack...if that is even possible.

I like my dogs well enough not to flog them or tie a dead bird to them too.
Mine cannot be trusted and with 5 dogs....and just me to train it ain't gonna happen here.
I am certain yours was just being a playful dog. Unfortunately it was more than the bird could take.
Do not beat yourself up over it but do add a better latch to the coop.

Animal cruelty telling your dog of by flogging it for killing your chickens. Its teach it a lesson m what about the conversations on here about what we do with our excess roosters we end up with. I've seen stuff on here saying some people say they kill and eat them. Well that's more like animal cruelty. I kill my excess roosters sometimes not always. I try and sell Them.
