Yeah they can be interesting for sure. My Welsummers race me to the garden shed, but they CHEAT--they fly!! I keep the sunflower seeds in there and they know it.

Ohh I didn't know they could have sunflower seeds I might get mine that as well!

I get the hulled ones and they only get about a tablespoon a day. Don't need fat chickens! But it sure works great to call them into the coop/run so I can then let the newbies out for a bit.

Eh, no worries, can be hard to get your head around it...I know a lot about cross contamination from my job, it's very easy to do. Keep clothes, shoes, and equipment in mind too.
