This is my first post but I have used this site many times for past advice. I have 3 duck eggs. 2 hatched within 12 hours of each other. I have one more that I do not believe has internally pipped yet. It is still alive but I am not sure if There is anything I can do or if I should just leave it and hope it still does?

Not all babies hatch at the same time
I had a batch going at a school and first baby hatched Tuesday and last one one Thursday there was 5 eggs
There can be cool and warm spots in bator that cause slight delays
I would leave baby be

Still no internal pip. It has been 72 hours since the last ones pipped and 24 hours since the last one hatched. I am not sure if it is alive anymore. I am unable to see movement now. 🙁

Yes. It is the last one. I do not see any bruising though. I did candle this morning again and I did see some flickering movements but still no internal pip. The air cell does now have sort of a shadow along one side but I do not see any indication of an internal pip unless I am missing it somehow. I assume there is nothing I can do unless it pips internally? I will try to take a photo later this afternoon if it still has not changed.

Thank you for any advice.

Yes not much you can do but watch it
If you are seeing shadowing this is a good sign
Is it a flickering movement or a breathing up and down ?
I have had a few eggs not hit the air cell but could see the baby was breathing by watching the movement along the air cell
Both times I could see a small bruise on the other end of the egg
I also had one external pip under the egg and had to turn it over
Because baby has not external pipped yet don’t be afraid to candle to watch for breathing movements and or internal pip Or bruising anywhere on the egg
It’s the only egg left so you won’t be causing other eggs issues
They only shrink wrap once they external pip if humidity is not kept high enough

OK. Some good news maybe. I do think it internally pipped. I was able to hear some shuffling noises and a peep. I attached photos. Any advice on safety hole if nothing by this evening?

Normally they say wait 24 hours before making safety holes
Have you helped do assisted hatch before ? If not it’s really good to read the guide ahead in case you do need to
If you make a safety hole there is a high chance baby may not feel the panic and urge to external pip leaving you to do a full assist
But in some cases they do still make it and hatch on their own
Because this baby is past due abd all others hatched days ago I want to get advice from some others
I’m going to tag a few others as @DuckyDonna and @WVduckchick have both assisted and made safety holes as well as know where to find the guide
