Question about the protein content of chick feed---
I have noticed recently people commenting that chick feed should be 20-22% protein. I was thinking the chick feed I was seeing was only 17-19%.
1) I want to know a safe way to increase this protein
2) The primary reason for higher protein at this stage (I am assuming its feather growth, as other growth may be satisfied by other %).
I know that I went into the store to compare protein levels after noticing the difference in what I saw here. There was nothing higher than 19% on the shelf--- but I must say that at the time, there was only Non-GMO feed (I don't usually feed medicated, but those were also Non-GMO) & the lower 17-19%.
I will be able to check another store today. But, I would like to know a safe way to increase the protein--
