Advice on water container

Hey y'all! Happy Monday!

My husband was recently gifted this water container from his late grandfather and wondering what's the best way to clean this up? There's alot of rusting on the bottom. It's much bigger than what we currently have for our girls and with it being so hot and humid, looking to give them more water.

You can try scrubbing it good, but that's the nature of those galvanize waterers. They do rust somewhat. I haven't found the rust to be a problem, except for needing to clean it out occasionally.
