Advice please - should I rehome new ducks

Shhh she'll hear you, shes already put in a petition to have her name changed from Marshmallow to Marilyn Quackroe. She's busying herself in a corner of the yard right now, I think she's setting up an autograph station.

Yes, the brown duck should think girl thoughts and keep that tail flat. Maybe I'll decorate their whole pen in pink rose petals and sit out there talking about tea parties and feather styling.

They sure are alot of fun aren't they. I have a drama queen too her name is Joy and since she is broody [and sitting on fake eggs] she has come into herself. Shes a riot. How are the residents acting towards the 2 new ones? when do you plan on letting them all be together?

So far our boy Norris approaches their fence whenever they make a bit of noise and they seem to quite like him. They all gather at the fence and touch bills through the small wire. The two girls who are out with Norris have basically ignored them. Coco and her 'baby' (not sure I can call him that anymore now that he's bigger than his mum :D ) spend all day in their pool right next to their enclosure. They chatter away and seem to have no issue with them.

I'm not sure when to let them together. We were thinking of doing it in stages since we've got them separated into 3 groups at the moment. Maybe putting them in with Coco and Quackmire in a week or so, then when they're settled, bringing that group together with Norris and the girls. Does that sound like a good idea?

The new ducks have grown a LOT in the short amount of time since we bought them home. They are now as tall as the other ducks, just a bit lighter than them.

Sounds like a good plan hopefully all will go well especially since they have been living side by side for a while now.

I hope so. And Norris seems to have calmed right down now, haven't seen him attempting to mate with any of the girls for a few weeks, so hopefully he might not persue poor Coco quite so aggressively just because he hasn't seen her for a while this time..!

Well, the darker runner really developed a boys voice and his tail started to curl! Sigh! So we decided last night that we would start to try and find a new home for them.

This morning I started asking around my poultry groups in my area and I have found a lovely family who are coming to pick them up tomorrow. They already have 4 runner girls and were looking to add a pair to their flock. I will be sad to see them go but I think it will work out for the best. At the same time today I found out a lady I had previously bought chickens from has 2 five month old Cayuga girls she was looking to sell, so I'm off to pick those up tomorrow!

I promise there'll be photos of the newbies and some updated photos of our "baby" boy who is now beautiful and huge! :D

Well it seems that things are working out. It's sad to part with some but it will be for the better.
