So we bought two chicken coops on sale at the local tractor supply just to add to our others. However we have had a lot going on and haven’t had time to build them so they’ve been sitting in the yard for 2/2.5 months In the box getting rained on... bad decision on our parts. Life happens I guess... so we went to get them out of the boxes today and the first one has what looks like mold and rotted wood on the pieces that were at the very bottom closest to the wet ground. So I guess I’m asking if I can still use the coops or not?

Thanks in advance, and please no negative comments! I know I shouldn’t have left hundreds of dollars worth of chicken coops outside in the rain and wet ground but they were too heavy for my to move and like I said, life happens and my birdies have other coops and are happy and healthy.

Life happens. At least those things happen in my world.
Work with what you have left.
You can deal with mold even if you use nothing else but chlorine bleach and paint.
If however, you have some rotted wood you can either replace individual pieces with new material or if there are just a couple soft spots, you can dig out unusable material, use a rotted wood stabilizer and then an outdoor grade wood filler. Those are available at any local hardware or big box store.
Then paint the buildings when erected.

can you return the coops? - sounds like you got a bad one, it shouldn't be rotted right out of the box - the TSC by me is good - they should take it back
Since they sat outside in the rain for a while then I wouldn’t be able to do that unfortunately. It’s my fault. However, they may be willing to replace the cracked pieces because that’s damage that was probably already there since those pieces we between packing materials and were not damaged by water at all.
