My dogs behave like part of the flock and don't bother my turkeys, chickens, bantams or piglets. Peachicks, I had not thought that far ahead. You have a very valid point. I think I'll wrap the bottom four feet with a smaller opening wire, like chicken wire. Thanks pea community!

A lot of Indian Blue peafowl in the states may not be pure blues, since with all of the spalding with varying degrees of green blood (as in hybrids between blues and greens) around many India Blues likely have spalding somewhere along the line. What KsKingBee said does not mean that the blue is not pure. He is blue (his color) and his pattern is barred wing (the wild form) and he carries the genes to produce offspring which may be white or dark pied. Also I should point out that white is considered to work like a pattern (and I do consider it a pattern) so it is masking the color of the bird. My white was an India Blue split Cameo White peacock which I found out by producing cameo peahens. He had the genetics to produce cameo peahen so that brought me to conclude that he was split cameo (which is a sex-linked color). White peafowl are not rare nor are they albinos which are two common misconceptions. An example of a more rare bird would be pure green peafowl (as many in the states are hybrids unfortunately). However, white peafowl are beautiful.

Thank you Blue Creek Farm!! Bird genetics continue to surprise me. It seems like there are a lot of nice color possibility. I really like the pied ones. I'm not sure but I think I like the multiple colors on a single bird, at least for peafowl. Still do like them all and have so much respect for their royal like beauty. I will be giving a buddy of mine a call soon. I hope he has a pair of hens he is selling.
