i currently have four, and we are hatching these babies to get more girls. i have one girl and three boys. YIKES!! my parents would most likely not let me try again, so they would make me sell two of the boys.

mom and dad were killed sunday. these eggs were special, but now they mean so much. i want one of their babies, even just one, to remember them. they meant so much to me, and they were just taken so quickly. i wish i could have them back.

i think so. none of them stink so i'm taking that as a good sign. i'm horrible at candling, so i'm not relying on that

What do you mean mom and dad were killed? and can anyone looking at this post give me a website or something that helps with candling related stuff like what to look for, when to tell if an egg is rotten, and such?

the duck that layed the egg was killed, and the male duck that fertilized the egg was killed. mom was killed by a weasel, dad by a fox, coyote, or dog. the mom was killed because she finally went broody and protected her eggs, and the weasel couldn't get them. i'd been hoping she'd go broody, but i wish she hadn't. she'd still be alive.
