How old do my new baby chooks have to be before they can go into the coop, I really need to know!!!!!!!!!!!

They can go in with a heat lamp from day 1 but I'm guessing that's not what you meant. Are you asking when they won't need supplemental heat or when can you integrate them with adults?

It really depends on a number of things. How old are your chicks now? The recommendation for the brooder is to start at 90-95 degrees and then lower the temperature 5 degrees every week until they are feathered. I moved mine to an insulated coop at 3 weeks with a heat lamp. It depends on your outside temperatures as well. Are you in a cold or warm climate? As long as they have a source of heat (if they need it) until they are fully feathered at about 7 weeks, they should be fine.

Thanks for the advice it has been very helpful and I now know my chickens won't freeze to death if there fully feathered:D
