Aggressive and nicest breeds of chicken?

All of my hens are sweet and easy to handle. However, a couple are a bit mean to their flock mates. Interestingly, some of the best cuddlers with me are the bossiest in the flock. It’s almost like sitting on my lap is related to rank. For a high ranked bird that is not mean to those beneath her, I’d say Barred Rock. For pure sweetness, my Speckled Sussex, Blue Laced Red Wyandotte and Buff Orp. Best cuddlers, though they are sometimes aggressive in the flock are Brown Leghorn, Black Australorp and Light Brahma. So it’s really all over the place in my flock. :)

I haven't the experience others here have, but I started with 3 girls: a Buff Orp, an EE and an Australorpe. They are all friendly, with the EE being the friendliest and the BO being the calmest.

My BO died, and I ended up with a Cochin and a Marans. This Cochin is the calmest, sweetest and most docile bird I have ever seen. She was not handled much as a baby, I got her at 12 weeks and within 3 days she was sleeping on my lap. She got pecked by my BA (who is kind of bitchy to other chickens it turns out) and she sits there and lets me clean and tend her wound every day.

Another thing to add: Right now I have adult 7 chickens--2 EE Roosters, 3 australorps, a sliver-laced wyandotte, and a brown leghorn. I'm trying to bring 6 production reds that are 9 weeks old into the flock and the leghorn is aggressively keeping them out. I'm having a dickens of a time getting these new birds to stay with the adults and, if they go out, get them back inside at night. The leghorn is constantly harassing them. So, again breed doesn't seem to be as much a contributing factor as the individual bird.
I agree.

I have 3 mix breeds and a buff Orpington. I absolutely adore my Orpington. She comes running to me when I go outside and she's just the sweetest thing. The other 3 aren't mean but they definitely aren't fond of me lol
