Aggressive Cockerel

He's starting to want to mate with the pullets and he's establishing his place in the pecking order. If he's really incessant about it you might try separating him from all the girls for a bit. I've never tried that before, I got rid of the boys and intend to let the older girls teach my roo his manners. I've had better luck that way than with clutchmates.

We separated him for a couple of days after the pullets. This was our first attempt at reintroducing him to other chickens.

That was also why we wanted to introduce him to the older ladies when he was younger. He still seems to be doing some damage though. He fought with another one of my buff Orpington hens. No blood though on the hen, I think he’s bleeding though, but not badly. My buff Orpington seems to be top of the pecking order before cockerel went in with them but I’m not 100% sure.
