I only have two drakes, both I have raised from a young age. My indian runner is a gorgeous boy, who is very friendly and comes to greet me at the door, but my pekin is the complete opposite. A few weeks ago we noticed that he started biting but it really wasn't much of a problem as it was only really 'nibbles'. But recently he has gotten to the point where as soon as you go outside that he comes over and starts attacking your feet and hands if he can get to them. He has actually drawn blood a few times. People have said that if you have an aggressive drake that you need to get rid of him, but I would be completely heartbroken if I did that. Can anyone please help me!

I have the same problem with my Ancona drake! Except he doesn't draw blood. :/ Every time your drake comes at you try holding him completely on the ground with both of your hands, when he stops trying to get up let him go. In duck language this shows him that you are the boss and not him. But, I tried that with my drake, and it works for a little while. If this doesn't work, you can also spray him with a water bottle. When mine gets sprayed, they run as fast as they can to get away from me. Let me know how it goes? :)

Thank you for your suggestion. Because he's gotten to the point where it hard to even pick him up I tried the spray bottle. I tell you he didn't like it one bit! As soon as I sprayed him he backed off! He hasn't tried to bite me since. I was really worried about him as everything else others have recommended hasn't worked. Thank you for your help! :)

I'm glad I could help! :) I hope everything works well for you and your ducks!
