I have posted a couple of threads about my rooster with an eye injury. Short story is that he was attacked by a neighbors bird and the injury has become infected. The eye itself is intact but there is a LOT of pus under the lid. He is holding the eye closed. I have been rinsing the eye with sterile water since yesterday. Last night I applied Polysporin (yes, it is safe) to the eye. He was eating scrambled eggs and gatoraid without issues.

Today he is not doing as well. He has eaten some egg but we are having to sneak the fluids in. I have rinsed his eye and applied a warm compress.

I managed to get my hands on Agrimycin Powder. The person that gave it to me (a BYC member) said to mix 1 tsp with 1 gallon of water.

What I need to know is:

1) Will this work for this type of infection?

2) Because I need to force feed it to him, how much does 1 bird need to consume per day?

3) Does it HAVE to mixed with liquid or can I put it in food?

I do not have the package or additional info.

Thank you to all that have been helping me.
