I'm trying, but, it's always "you have 5 min to check if the animals are OK then back inside " or "they are all fine" and people stop me from seeing my pets.Being a minor myself, I can say that the “she’s just a kid” excuse is just not realistic. I was a minor 2 years ago. I haven't acted like this since I was nine years old and kept putting off cleaning my goldfish's filter. It got sick and died and I still haven't forgiven myself. I'd be running down the road to animal control myself before I'd let my animals be neglected like this.I agree as I am young as well
If you aren’t allowed to take care of them longer than 5 minutes that is a huge issue. I suggest that you sit down and have a conversation with your parents about the level of attention the animals need. If not, it’s neglect.I'm trying, but, it's always "you have 5 min to check if the animals are OK then back inside " or "they are all fine" and people stop me from seeing my pets.
How would I go at the topic? How should I start? What should I say?If you aren’t allowed to take care of them longer than 5 minutes that is a huge issue. I suggest that you sit down and have a conversation with your parents about the level of attention the animals need. If not, it’s neglect.
Remember, about two months back, when you said you'd talk to them about having more control over the care of your animals? How would I go at the topic? How should I start? What should I say?

Something like “Mom, Dad, could we take like fifteen minutes to talk about the current situation with our animals? It’s become apparent that they aren’t healthy and taken care of the way they need to be. I’d like your permission to spend more time feeding, cleaning, and doing any other necessary chores for the animals to give them the best possible quality of life that we can.”How would I go at the topic?
