Ahhhhhh the tiniest egg ever! Did my 15-16 week old mixed pullet Amelia lay it? Or was it one of my year old hens?

Super Cool! It's the size of a quail egg!

Just wondering, if it were fertile, would it hatch a tiny chick or be too small and the chick hatch early?
Most fairy eggs lack a yolk, so mostly no. But even if they were fertile, the chick inside wouldn't be able to develop
True true, just imagine if it did have a yolk and would be able to hatch (I don't think it's possible) But that would be the smallest baby ever omg <3

It won't. Even if the yolk is present, the yolk inside isn't enough to sustain life. Beyond that, the chick inside still is genetically programmed to grow to the normal size, which is too small to fit the egg

It would be so cute! I'd do anything to get a chick that small that would stay super small forever! My quail are already almost three weeks old, but I wish they could stay tiny ♥️

Ps: I'm not squishing them in my hand, they used to run in it and get pats
