A few weeks ago, some of you gave me advise to breed an EE cockerel to a Production Red Hen by using Artificial Insemination. That what we decided to do, and we are putting two of the eggs on lockdown tomorrow! I originally had two Cochin x Sebright eggs in there as well since I had a hard time breeding them, but those eggs quit very early. I ended up breeding the Sebright to the Cochin one more time, and those eggs will hatch in about two weeks.

Here’s the parents of the PR x EE

And if the AI didn’t work, this is the dad

I'm keen to see how your Sebright / Cochin eggs do! I have sebright/pekin crosses and I love them! The passing down of the genes that collectively arrive at lacing (from the sebright) will result in an awesome lolly scramble of patterns in future babies. The roo in my avatar is my third generation from my project and I absolutely adore his stature. Hopefully you have the same success!!

Edit: My Sebright/Pekin eggs routinely hatch between day 18 and 20 when incubated with larger breed eggs that hatch at day 21 - so you might get an early surprise?? :fl

Wow! He’s gorgeous! When I incubated my Sebrights, they all hatched on day 16-17, but I have yet to hatch Cochins or the mix between the two! Unfortunatley I have little hope the Sebright is the father, since the other guy with our Cochin hen has been all over her. But even if the other guy is the dad, they should all be 3/4ths Cochin with some Polish and Leghorn in the background!
