unfortunatley, my 56 egg incubator broke, spiking dramatically in temp and killing all but one hardy little egg. this egg has been upright for nearly a week in the 56 inc, i quickly moved it to my safe Janoel after what happened. when candling yesterday, i noticed it had a tiny detached air cell, it’s not even a centimeter. yet when moving my flashlight around to catch a glimpse of the chick moving... there is a giant air cell stuck at the pointed end of the egg. i’m assuming the chick will either die within the next week or die in lockdown. how did this happen? is there anything i could do to save it? it is definitely the pointed end, it’s quite distinct. the chick is still alive so far.

Does it have a normal air cell at the other end? If no, I would be trying to get it to position itself in the pointy end for hatch by propping it pointy end up. Generally you aren't supposed to do that but if that's where the air cell is then that's where you want its head to be when it hatches.

No, the air cell at the the normal end is smaller than a 5 pence piece and detached. Thanks for your advice, I’ll definitely try that if it makes it to lock down.
