I was hoping to get some feedback. We have covered the whole run but wonder if we should leave the tops open for ventilation?

What climate/state are you in?
You can add your location -- just the state is fine, or country if you're not in the US -- and then people can reply with more helpful advice. Climate matters a lot with keeping chickens.

I'm in Michigan, and we get cold and snow. I cover the prevailing wind side (west) to the roof. I cover the north side (also a predominant wind direction) up to 5 feet or so, and the top foot is open. The south side gets covered to about knee high, and the east side not at all, because it's in the lee of the garage.

I apologize, I’m a first timer 😃 I am in New Jersey. The winters here do t have as much snow as we used to but it gets cold but not as cold as Michigan. Maybe 30s to 40s in the day then 20s at night.

You really don't get cold at all. I would open up a lot more of the sides unless you get an insane amount of winds from all directions.

I've never wrapped any part of my run and we have similar temperatures. I do have to shovel snow because of that though, but we don't get crazy amounts of snow.

Not to pile one, but to agree. Leave the top open and pull back a couple more feet. As your season progresses, pull back or remove sections or even add - point being is to find your prevailing wind and adjust. Chickens handle cold* much better than heat.

*Your coop is where you will need to be most diligent.
