The snakes are really out here in Alabama and this one got into my young chicken coop the other day. I am not sure what it is but it was about 6ft long. And it was caught eating one of my oegb pullets.

I am in Randolph County near Roanoke and Lake WedoweeWhere are you in AL? I'm north of Huntsville, near the state line. I haven't seen big snakes like that in a long time! I carry a 6 shooter for snakes, .22 shorts. Usually when I see the snake, it has an egg in its mouth and I can get close to take a good shot.
Yeah there was apparently a hole somewhere. But I did put the youngins in a more secure environment triple checked for holes. And sorry about your pullet. For the sake of education do you know how it got in?
