ALABAMA!!

Tomtom: I am not getting rid of any of my adult Silkies just a few of my babies i've hatched but there is a guy named Mike in Greenhill that has some Silkies listed on Craigslist (Florence/Muscle Shoals). He has an add Sept 7th for some a few days to 3 months it says for $5.00. I believe I have bought some from him a couple years ago and he sells them all the time on there.

Gotcha, figured I'd relay the info. I always keep my eyes out for others

Anyone of you fine Alabama folk need some toddler boy clothes? I am selling a bunch 12-24M clothes. But I'd totally trade for a blue egg laying pullet

(or girl clothes, 6 months and up)

I have a couple Black Australorps, Silver Laced Wyendottes, Comets and a few Dominicker pullets I am thinking of getting rid of. They just started laying about a month ago and I'm thinking about thinning down the herd of girls I'm not planning on using in my breeding projects now. (they are all girls)
I have a Trio of bantam I think they are Golden Campines also if anyone wants them. (a roo and 2 pullets about 4 months old now, not laying yet)

I know that it won't look great, but a tarp over the run area will provide shade anywhere in the yard. If you could find some sunscreen, that would look better. Remember that the sun (and therefore, the shade) moves throughout the day and you do well to point the coop part toward the west so they have more shade in the afternoon when the sun is hottest.

Have you gotten any eggs yet? I was wondering if they settled in or if you will have to wait a while for breakfast.

No eggs as of yet, but they seem happy enough. They're eating and drinking well at least.

I would be interested in Silver Lace Wyendottes could you send me a picture? They would be joining my little flock of 3 BO's and and 3 Black Australorps. My chickens are close to 22 weeks old. (April 17th hatch date)

is it normal for an EE to get such a pronounced wattle and comb? I thought this entire time she had a pea comb but now I'm not sure because these past few weeks her comb and wattle have grown! She is the only EE I have that even has a wattle as of right now.
