ALABAMA!!

I have actually been asking around about having/coordinating a swap/meet-n-greet here in Tuscaloosa (it is pretty central) in the spring. How many of you would a) attend, b) bring eggs, chicks, adults, c) volunteer to help?

I would attend and volunteer to help (unless it happened to be on a day that I had something else important, which is highly unlikely).

Sorry about your BO!

What's he do, Tom?

He's a manager at Little Caesar's in Helena. I used to be a manager at Jack's (Montevallo and Columbiana), had to give it up to be with the kiddo's. Two folks working food service isn't possible, as they practically demand you work weekends.. can't work at the same time

Hi! I'm in Chelsea, about 25 miles south of Birmingham. I have 5 eight week old Marans, down from 9. I foolishly didn't lock them up and a raccoon got in and killed 4. Out of the 5 I have left, I've been trying to decide how many of them are roosters.

Any one else have Marans?

I have heard that it is not too "chicken centered" but is getting better. I've never gone, but have looked into going and decided it would be more of a family outing than a chicken swap. I seem to remember someone saying there were a few more chicken hobbyists there last year than usual.

I would volunteer and bring some hatching eggs as well!

Hello! Welcome to BYC and the Alabama thread, we're glad to have you here. I have some Black Copper Marans (BCMs) but would love to have some other varieties. Which are you raising?

When you have a few more posts, put up some pics of your chicks and we will help you decide.
