Possibly Roo as you will have an Alfpha Roo and the others don't crow much as long as he is in charge. Got any pictures?

Wow, look at all these Alabama folks. I can't believe I have not yet checked in here. I have been with the board since the beginning.

I live in NE Alabama in a small town called Bryant up on Sand Mountain. We are right on the Ga/Tn/AL state lines.

I raise Sizzles, Silkies and Bantam Salmon Faverolles. I have been raising chickens since I moved to Alabama about 5 years ago. I have always wanted a place for a large garden and Chickens so my dream has come true. Now if I could just talk DH into a few goats it would put the icing on the cake.

I have a picture but do not know how to post it.

Hi,

I am also from North Alabama, specifically Madison County. I am so excited about getting chickens! I live in a neighborhood so I plan to only get hens....need to keep this quiet. My two beehives already make the neighbors nervous,

. The flowers seem to bloom brighter though! Anyway, the chickens will have a coop (not built yet...hoping to find a pre-built one or use one of the plans here) in my clay tennis-court turned garden. There is a 20' net so I think I can be pretty discreet with the chickens. I hope to find someone locally to purchase the hens from. I have an incubator that I have used in the past to hatch chickens for educational purposes. Too bad I never had the guts to keep the chickens myself. I had a hard time finding somewhere for them to go!

I appreciate all of the info here!
