My search for a rooster is finally over! A friend that lives just up the road from me is going to give us his last RIR roo and 2 hens. That'll bring my chicken count up to 8. I just hope the coyotes don't get to them first. They're the whole reason he's starting to give them away. I might have to see if I can talk dad into some of those colorful layers he has.

I'm selling 8 Black Australorp chicks (2 weeks old) at the Spruce Pine Flea Market (hwy 43) on Saturday. All 8 for $25 or $4 each.

Well, it seems like I'm not getting my silkies after all. The person gave me 3 silkies. My parents picked them up and were keeping them until I had a chance to get the silkies from them. Unfortunately they let the silkies free range in the yard with their dog. Need I say more.

Oh dear.... Yeah, they look like stuffed animals, much harder to resist than a sturdy large fowl bird. Sorry hun
