ALABAMA!!

I just read an article on here in the coop section on sand. It was really good. Very mixed reviews. Good read. I can't add the link I'm on my phone but it should be easy to find. :)

Don't give layer until they are laying age.

Ameraucana are very hard to sex, but they should have peacombs, not single.  Are they perhaps easter eggers?

I'm hoping not.... I was told from the individual that I bought most of them from that they were amercauna, not that it is a huge deal to me just would like to know what I've got. No my lavender splash hatched out at my place and her/his egg was kind of blue I think, can't really remember...lol. Oh well, guess we will just have to wait and see....

2 silkies for sale, a splash and a partridge.
They are about two years old and are surprisingly not bad layers when they are laying.
They do go broody all the time but I have yet to set any eggs under them, so I don't know how good of mother hens they are.

The Splash is beautiful, and poofy. Hence her name, Foofy.
The partridge, Pancake, is not quite as nice looking, not bad, just not as poofy.

Here's a picture of Foofy.

We are south of Birmingham, $30 for the pair.
Pm for more pictures, info, etc.

We also have a silkie rooster for sale, he's pure silkie but of mutt coloring. White/gray, but he's overall a pretty good looking silkie.
He's free!

Took a ton of nice pictures today! Let the bigger birds free range for the first time, they loved it. Put the silkies and sizzles etc in the big coop while the other kids were outside to stretch their legs. they loved that too. Hoping to get these pictures off the phone and onto the computer so I can share them! Hennyhandler I have picture of my two sweet blue babies too! I can't wait to show you how great they look! Unfortunately we lost the one little wyandotte. :( I tries the recommended vitamins and supplements at least the ones I could find. I think I caught it a little too late. Now obe Waterer has electrolytes in it at all times. :( our first loss out of 37 birds, so decent odds! hope to share pictures soon! Hope everyone's week has started well!

I was going to put construction sand (it's coarse, so the rain can wash some ickyness out of it) in part of my run, but I have come to realize we don't need it. The run is at such a slope, water doesn't sit long enough to create mud. Heck, my coop still has some 'grass' in it, as it is.

I have sweet PDZ under my roosts. It's good stuff, but you gotta find a scoop that sifts the poo. Most kitty litter scoops have gaps that are too big.

I have some great news! My appointment was today and they told me the results of the test and I DON'T have gestational diabetes!!!!! They said that I passed it with plenty of room to spare. It's such a relief to find out I don't have it.
