ALABAMA!!

Not odd at all! I have a wet weather spring running through my chicken yard and my chickens get in there an cool their feet all the time. Usually, the spring is dried up by the first week in June. This year, it hasn't dried up yet!

Anyone have any chicks for sale in baldwin co? I've been buying them from memes poultry and quail sales, but looking for other breeds too.

Brie, I have contacted you before about having chicks, eggs, roosters for sale.

I live in Fairhope. Right now I don't have anything that I can sell you, other than 6 month old roosters, but will have chicks hatching in late September, if you are interested in EE's. You can take a look at my profile page to get an idea of what colors we have. Our birds lay blue, blue/green, and light brown eggs. Would love to help you. Chirp

I am about 30 minutes from Alabama. My husband is from Stevenson Alabama. Thank you for the warm welcome. ROLL TIDE!

My father was born in Stevenson (back in 1938). Some of my fondest memories from childhood are of going to Stevenson every summer for his family reunion (Loyd-Ridley) which they held at the electric co-op. Welcome to BYC! (oh, and War Eagle!)

I'm so excited I just had to share. I am now full-fledged chicken mom with a lovely flock of 18 birds, and lots of variety. In the full sized arena I've got a BO, an EE, four Delawares, four RIRs, a RIR/Game mix, two red sex links, and a Barred Rock rooster I've named Rocky. I recently acquired four bantams too - a rooster and three hens. I thought one hen might be a blue cochin bantam since she is bluish gray and rumpless but she has no feathers on her legs and I thought all cochins had feathered legs. The rooster (named Spike) is silver grey and cream, one hen is white with dark cream on her breast and tail (perhaps a Wheaton) and the other is almost black with light grey feathers around her neck. I've attached a picture of Spike and two of his ladies are behind him. Anyone have any ideas on breed?

Here's a bit better picture and you can barely see Fleur (the possible cochin) behind the hardware cloth. Coco is the little blonde and Esmeralda is the black and gray.

Congrats on your new flocks! Looks like you got a bunch of nice looking chickens.

And as I predicted, hubby has become just a little bit attached as well (despite protestations to the negative). I caught him throwing them BOSS the other day and Hershey, the only EE we have, has become his favorite. He's just a big old softy but hates to admit it.

I'll try to get some more pictures of the larger birds if they will stand still long enough. So far all I've gotten are some blurs and lots of backsides.
