ALABAMA!!

I was there today after I went to Farm day at Montevallo high school. I was a bit scared after what you been through but the TSC people I talked to over there were all very nice to me. Told me the number # to get was 6 but they let me get 3. They also had comets and Ameraucana(chicks are not Ameraucana-labeled wrong). The ducklings were sold out.

Well dangit, I just took down the brooder and the kids have moved into the coop.

Doesn't that just figure? I've got only 5 weeks til I'm supposed to pop, so really not a good time to get more chicks anyway. Shouldn't have told me that

Now I'm gonna have to fight the urge to go look.

*SIGH*!

We went to farm day.. the little guy wasn't too interested in the animals, he just wanted to play in the bouncy castle and kept running to the food stand (he doesn't even like hotdogs, that goober). The chickens looked a little sad, it was awfully warm in that tent. And the poor limpy duck >_< I find that fowl at fairs and farm days always look in iffy shape (unless they're showing). Chickens and such just don't do so well packed like sardines in a cage like that. A goat or cow is a lot happier laying about in a pen, chewing on some grass.

Update on my little flock...I just bought 8 Cuckoo Maran, 3 Ideal 223, 6 Black Giant and one Buff chicks. I will be adding them to my flock of Easter Eggers, Rhode Island Reds, Dominiques, White Leghorns, Bantam mutts and Silkie rooster. I haven't had babies in 2 years!
