ALABAMA!!

It's a bit messy because we still use the shed for other things so it's hard to get a clean shot but here it is.. mostly finished. :) The roost boards need another coat of paint so since they're removable and they probably wouldn't use them right now anyway, it's not in there. And the nest boxes from the outside... Their water system is rigged with 5 gallon bucket, hose and down to the water nipples there. The board they are mounted to can be raised again later when they get larger and it's missing a sloped guard over it that my dad forgot to bring with him :) Inside I have the heat lamp for them at night still. This was taken right after I filled the feeder for the first time and they started going crazy lol While I was trying to take pictures Angel jumped up on my arm And so she decided to look down upon the masses and watch. I think she gets picked on a good bit since she's the only white one :( My chicken coop door I still have my 6 TSC chicks in door since it goes below freezing again next week. Hopefully my waterer will be ok.
nice coop. Love the feeder pipe thingy. What type of chickens are those in ur pic?

Really love your feeder! Great idea! Oh, and I'm in Blount County. We have a mixed flock of chickens. One pure bred Partridge Cochin Roo mixed with game hens, and a potpourri of other breeds. Roos rarely fight. They are really predator savvy, hatch chicks three times a year, great mothers and the roos help raise the young too. We call them "feral" chickens. LOL. They can fly like a jet plane!!!and spot a hawk souring in outer space. We also have about 30 guinea fowl in a multiple of colors.

Thanks! The top of the pipe is a piece of pipe cut at an angle to use as a scoop to fill the feeder.
I have 6 roos that are Production Reds.. I think they were added to my order to my order to keep my 12 pullets warm enough. My 12 pullets pictured there is 6 Easter Eggers (one is solid white), 2 Buff Orpington, 2 Black Australorps, 2 Barred Rocks. I have 4 more Barred Rock pullets and 2 Road Island Reds in the house still that I'm not sure on pullet/roo.

I added a little pine straw on top of the shavings that the kids gathered up from the yard and the crazy things were afraid to walk on it!

It smells good in there right now though! Now I need to get the run done so they can actually go outside without ME freaking out something will get them or keeping track of them in my yard... there's lots of places to go under and hide.
