ALABAMA!!

Hi, Fellow Alabama BYC Friends!

How nice to find this thread, which was recommended to me by someone in Skipperville. I am about 30 minutes southeast of Dothan-- in the very far southeast corner of the state. Great way to connect and get info. I have 23 hens and two weeks ago picked up a dozen chicks. I am hoping that half of them will be pullets..Key word: HOPING! I have RIR, Buff O's, Wht Leghorn, 2 sexlinks, 2 beautiful blue copper marans. The new chicks are black copper marans, blue marans, and blue ameraucanas.

Bless you all!

Here is a picture my maybe LF cochin or light brahma(Just found out it may not be a cochin) and penguin coturnix chick. Huge difference in size!!

I got 2 penguin hatched yesterday. 1 A&M didn't make it. :( Another penguin was almost out of the shell when I left so hopefully it will be fully out by the time I get home. Statically I shouldn't be having that many penguin born. I have only the 1 pair of penguin and majority are A&M. My only thought is "BOY" my male penguin has been busy and "BOY" he going to die young from working so hard.

Wow! That's a cool comparison. Congrats on the penguins, sorry about the A&M. That boy of your's is just doing what comes naturally. It's a tough job, but he manages.

Oh guess who is back this morning. It's the hawk!!! Saw him/her when I was leaving for work.

Hi!
I got them from a couple in Bonifay, FL (just about 40 minutes from here). They had pretty birds with pretty eggs. So far they are doing well. I'll keep you updated. The two Blue Copper Maran hens that I have now are so beautiful. I am hoping these will be healthy, pretty hens, too.
