ALABAMA!!

I have a friend in Clanton that just hatched some RIRs. I think they are breeder (not hatchery) stock from the Northeast.

Here's an ad he has but not much info there!

Dad's trying for closer and I know he'd rather get one free. I just hope we don't end up with another crazy roo like the one we sold last year. He was good at his job, he was just too mean.

Yep. We actually managed to sell our crazy boy. You couldn't get into the coop to get the eggs. My new Dom roo was free, but he's the kind of roo that just wants to get far away from you. It's the hens we got with him that are mean! Every one of them bit me while I was trying to get their feet and legs treated.

Here are my new birds! A Dom roo and hen, a game hen, and a RIR hen. They're in quarantine right now and I'm treating them for leg mites and anything else they might have. I'm happy with them. I'm still looking for a RIR roo to go in with my girls. Dad says that the Dom hen and roo look nothing like the ones that my grandmother raised, so I'm guessing that they had the wrong breed. Dad can't say he hates Doms now.

Congrats on your new additions.
And I'm sure you will be able find a RIR roo sooner or later. I will keep my eyes open for you.

Eye candy for you @Orps

Still babies, and for the life of me, I can't get a good pic of Winston. The girls are easy. Lovely from every angle!
I did have to move them to a shadier location. Our summers are just a cruel joke.
