ALABAMA!!

Hi Lulu, Welcome to Byc and the ALABAMA thread!  I may can help you, depending on what you want.  I'm just down the highway from you..........

I would really like a few orpingtons and silver laced wyandotte's. I am just getting started with chickens and am just keeping them as pets and egg layers. I am one of those people with very spoiled chickadees.

I have some Black Orpingtons available but no SLW. I think I have the phone number of a lady in Gordo that has SLW but I don't know their quality. If you want to try to order eggs (its not a good time with the heat) I can incubate them for you and we will work something out where you pay per egg started, or chick hatched, or where I get a percentage of the chicks hatched. I have a 288 egg incubator that I just recently fired up for the fall, a little early.......

Feel free to ask around about me from anyone on here or elsewhere that has bought chicks from me. I am straight forward and easy to deal with. I am not trying to make a living with chickens, it is a hobby that sometimes pays part of it's own way.

If you want to talk, PM me and I'll give you my phone number.

Thanks! I will talk to my husband and see what he thinks. I am very new at all this chicken stuff. It's definitely a hobby that I enjoy. I was telling the husband just the other day if we won the lottery I wanted to just quit work and startup a farm!

Last night I picked the scab, and cleaned it real well with chlorhexadine scrub. It really doesn't look that bad, maybe I caught it in time and there will be no cutting or stew involved. I would probably be sad to eat one of my big girls.

I spoke too soon. Her foot is now swollen and I'm guessing it's infected, cause it's real hot.but anyway she is going to the doctor today.

I can vouch for Wisher myself! She has very healthy chickens! I got Easter Eggers and the black Orpingtons from her and haven't had any problems from them. And she is very easy to deal with, very personable and knows her chickens!

^ You're very welcome! Oh hey, in your searching for the silver campine, did you find any good golden campine breeders? I ended up with a baby boy that was supposed to be a baby girl, and I'm thinking about getting him a couple of ladies!
