ALABAMA!!

Has anyone here ever had any problems with their outside cats with their chicks or hens? Mine is very curious about my 3 week old chicks and I wonder if she will just learn with my scolding her that it's not okay and grow uninterested.

My cat is a hunter, but he's lost interest in the chickens after the bigger ones pecked him a few time haha

Haha my hubby said "I guess she will learn the first time one or all of them attack back, I bet she leaves them alone then!"
Right now, they are still too small to fight back so I keep a very close eye on them and the cat. I would be pretty upset if she ever hurt any of them.

Cats are opportunist and take advantage of anything they can get away with. Unlike some dogs, they don't really care what you think about it. They don't normally fight to kill though so a good broody LF hen going Rambo on their face would probably quell the desire for a chick dinner.

Mine had a chipmunk the other day... Poor thing was squeaking and gasping, but that cat did all it could to avoid me taking his prize. He never eats much of them, just the soft tissue. Such a waste
