ALABAMA!!

Hey Alabama,
Does anyone out there in North Alabama, southern Tennessee know of any butternut trees? My husband spoke of a grove he saw on Coal Mine Mountain but he could not remember exactly where he was. The butternut tree is becoming endangered because of a fungus called the butternut canker. It has killed nearly 80% of the butternut trees in the northeast. Tree experts are looking for resistant trees to use to start a breeding program to re-populate the area. I thought maybe some of the hunters on the forum may know of some trees.
I was corrected by my husband...it was not Coal Mine it was Skyline. Sorry
Lisa

Just moved to near Anniston from Southern GA! Sure like the colder weather and the 'mountains' up here! Much nicer than swamps!

Anniston is about 45 min from me, you'll like it there I'm sure. It's a lot more built up with conveniences than when we moved here and first started going up that way.
