Alaska Chicken Lover's Soup for the Cold!!

Yea but Bonnie you have an advantage, you have your commercial coolers that stay a constant/consistent temp. I'm referring to the fish coolers that
us normal folks have. hehe (normal....

) The water in the bottom of the coolers is warmer or can become warmer after 24-48 hours than the ice the birds are placed on. If they sit in that warmer
water you have a chance of bacteria growing.....

I'm a germaphobe....don't listen to me.....

Deb that makes perfect sense if you don't have a cooler, and I'd probably salt and ice them too if that's the only option I had.

Better to be safe with food that has taken up a lot of your life!!

Hey better yet! Lets all take our birds up to Bonnie, we can use her coolers! No cooties to worry about then!

We could do that... if I were staying here... LMAO!!

We are in the process of moving back to the old cabin up on Bestline in the subdivision here. It's about 7 miles from the store.

Well, I'm in lock-down mode with my last two Lav eggs. At first when I candled them I had thought they looked like
they were shrink wrapped but I just looked in on them and one was moving around!

So maybe I'll have a new baby after all. Cross your fingers for me!

Ok, maybe I'll try that with one of my birds before I cook it. I wonder if that would make any difference after it's been frozen....last years
birds were a little tougher. We didn't know to let them rest for awhile.

Well. I just went out and found one of my roos dead in the young roo tractor. They are about 13 weeks old and have been getting along just fine... I've not seen any major squabbles or lots of pulled feathers or anything... odd. I have him in a bag and will be saving the feathers, but as far as I know he just died sometime today... I walked past there this morning and didn't see him dead... just found him now...

Ok folks I need to rehome some chickies before we make this complete move to the cabin.

For now I need to rehome a Porcelain cockerel and Self-Blue pullet Old English Game. (Sorry Aimee, didn't know this move was coming!) Plus a very pretty Dark Cornish Bantam pullet (pretty sure it's a girl).

Depending on how they behave together, I might also have to rehome a Spitzhauben and a Polish Crested roo. If they act right once we move, I'll keep em, if not they're outta here...lol

Free to anyone on here!
