Alaska Chicken Lover's Soup for the Cold!!

Stormin Norman has been a part of our lives for almost three years. He was given to us by friends that had sled dogs, and Norman was ready to retire. He's run the Iditarod and the Yukon Quest more than once, and countless other races and lots of miles in his life. Even at the age of 14 or 15 he was still ready and willing to step up in harness and pull. Sadly, these may be Norman's last few hours, here, on the third week of Willow's passing. I am, once again, in years over the loss of a friend...as we know it will only now be a matter of time before he gets to run with Willow and Dakota and wait for us.

He is gone now... 8:35 pm Sept 8th 2010 Norman went on to join Willow 3 weeks 5 hours after Willow. He now can teach everyone what it was like to be a true sled dog. To have your heart ripped out twice in three weeks is a little much, but he was showing signs about the time Willow passed, he will be laid to rest with Buck and Ladie tomorrow morning at the other cabin. RIP my Stormin Norman.

This has been an awfully wretched spell for you. He's a beautiful fellow... He lived a life of adventure, and you loved him. What dog could ask for more?

Bonnie, I'm sorry about yet another loss!! I hope you have good news for us this morning about those eggs.

We are coming down home stretch on the duck coop. DH announced lastnight that it had to have insulated walls, so that will mean another trip to Lowes. Other than that, I have a pop hole/clean out door and roosting shelves to construct, a small section of siding to put up and vinyl flooring to go in and my part is done--oh yeah, need to paint the thing. DH has to wire up electric and then the ducks can move in. I may be overly optimistic, but I am hoping for this weekend.

So, other than eagles, hawks, owls, bears and dogs, do we have other preditors we need to be worried about?

Bonnie, you and Sam have my condolences, what a beautiful boy he was. He had the best life that old fella could have
asked for....he'll be waiting along with Willow and all the others to see you and Sam at the Rainbow bridge....
