Alaska Chicken Lover's Soup for the Cold!!

I hear ya, my plate is pretty full at the moment myself. Turkeys are pretty easy, I don't think
those little ones would be ready this year though. I could be wrong and Tori is welcome to correct me
but I think Chocolates are a heritage breed and grow much slower than your "meat" turkeys.
Now that I have a BR (from tori) and two blue slates I am really enjoying the personalities of these
smaller birds.....

Donna, your BCM chick has feathers on it's feet... gonna be the only way I tell the difference for a few days, I have three lil black chicks with white markings...lol

I concur... I think that they take a good 7-9 months to mature to a size worthy of the dinner table. Though the Chocolates are larger than the Bourbon Reds when mature, they'll still take longer than the BBBs...

Now, if you want them for next year, go for it.

That sounds like the BCM all right. They have feathers down the leg and outside toe. Whoowooo! I'm glad you got one!

Cute lil things they are...lol All of them are eating and drinking, and the first one that hatch runs straight to my hand and hops on whenever I reach in.
