Alaska Chicken Lover's Soup for the Cold!!

Yeah, I would like more fat for winter and working dogs, too. Mine is just a lazy bum indoor dog, though, so she does well.

I asked about the price of kelp meal at Budget as that is an excellent vitamin/mineral supplement for all of the animals. It's over $100 a bag. That may be part of where the price goes up, as well as the fact that that guy gets his stuff from M&F and has the raw products run through their pellet mill. I'd just as soon not pelletize the stuff, and mix it into a warm mash of some kind.

I guess the dog food is a little high protein for chickens, but certainly it works in a pinch.

Bulk rate is $153 for 55 pounds. If must be bought through WLW so its actually $200.
What size did BF have?

PS
On here a bunch today, cause I got into some MSG inadvertently last night and had a BAD reaction this morning.
I ended up fasting till noon, taking a detox bath and sipping on Kombucha.

Much better. Thing is it is a true toxin and it affects all who eat it.
Its actually a Neurotoxin. It kills brain cells every time you eat it, and that is the least of your worries.
It hides under 40 odd names as well. Natural flavor/ings, and anything hydrolyzed are 3 of them.

I though it did not affect me at one point, but as I cleaned up my diet, I began to have tiny panic attacks.
It took them getting worse and worse beofre I made the correlation.

DH had picked up butter, and accidentally got the salt free butter rather then the regular that we suppliment our raw butter with.
Commercial butter is low in flavor, so guess what? This whole salt free lie, means that MSG is added to the butter.
You literally cannot pick up a salt free butter brand that does not contain msg.

I got so bad this morning, I came seconds from passing out.
I had dh get me hot water with a huge dash of Cayenne pepper in it, and I took a big slug, followed by a bit of milk to help the pain.
Instant relief.
I learned this trick when I learned that 2 tbls of cayenne pepper in a mug of warm water will stop a heart attack cold.
It opens up all the air and blood paths instantly.

If you can take the pain this is a good remedy for a lot of things! i expect in case of a heart attack a little burn should not be material..
I do avoid MSG at all costs now days...
Don't you just love that when we want an item unadulterated (by salt, MSG, sugar or even fat) they HAVE to add something else to "enhance" flavor anyway since they are so sure we don't know what we want?

Update on the chicken feed-related deaths:
I am getting emails from several people who also have sick and dying poultry. Please everyone who is having this problem, contact Dr. Robert Gerlach @ 375-8200. He is the state vet with the DEC. and looking into this problem for me. prelemanary lab results on dead birds showed lead posioning- boutislism- and salmonolle. Results on feed are not in yet. The feed in question is Mana Pro pellet chicken feed, code number MADE 091510W. You can find the code on the bottom of the bag in the white stitching, not the lable. If others are having this problem and you are in the same area as I am, please let me know. If you need to contact Mana Pro the phobne number is 800-690-9908. Thank you everyone

Scary. Now I'm hesitant to get the Mana Pro rabbit feed that I needed to pick up tomorrow.

I'd be curious to see the living conditions of the birds. The lead can come from lead based paint around the house, though I don't know how rare that would be. The botulism and salmonella could be from wet spoiled feed that the birds are picking up off the ground, mice, whatever... might NOT be the feed, but until the lab results are in, I'd quietly ignore that brand for a while.
