Alaska Chicken Lover's Soup for the Cold!!

Ehaus,

Yep! Bonnie does wonderful work! We also trap in the winter, so if by chance Bonnie doesn't have the fur you want (which is unlikely)we always have something
laying around as well.....Take it to Bonnie and Walla! you have your very own custom hat, gloves or whatever....

This is my busiest time of year, so anyone wanting something that I don't already have made, try and get with me soon!

Hmmmm.......... just an FYI for you... I do fur hats and mittens and whatever else you'd like - this winter it will be what gets us thru the winter as the store is closed. www.alaskaspiritcrafts.com

I hope you're not buying from the Fur Exchange or any of the other stores downtown...

Ha! I was thinking about it, because that's where I'd seen the hat I really like. I could take a pic of it, maybe....
I'll check out your site first. What I want is a seal/otter hat.
I would much rather help support you than "The Man"!

I perfer supporting local as well, but now I am curious as to why I should avoid the Exchange.........
Someone can PM me about it if thats better.

Why pay $300 for a pelt that a local trapper would have charged you $150 for?

For the lack of a better term....Tourist trap

and to also add, many of their furs are farmed.

One reason that I know personally, is that they don't pay much for items that they buy and then mark them WAY up. About 8 year ago I took in a ram head from a Mouflon sheep and she gave me $50 for it, about 6 months later I saw it on the wall with a $300 price tag on it. Plus their fur prices are INSANE!! I get most of my furs, from various sources, for 1/2 or less than what they want.

What!?!?!?!
SO basically, they are paying Pawn shop prices, without the option to buy it back

Sure seems so. And that's the reason I never buy in there much anymore. I do go in occasionally to see if there is something mismarked and cheap, then I'll buy, but to pay some of the fur prices she has... I don't think she has a wolf on the wall less than $450!
